Conservationism

Writer: Rachael DelektaRachael Delekta

What quote am I vibing? "We are prone to speak of the resources of this country as inexhaustible; this is not so." Theodore Roosevelt

What am I listening to? Justin Timberlake's Man of the Woods album

What am I craving? Cheesesteak with pizza sauce from May's Drive-In

How long til I'm on the road? 4 days

Walked one of my favorite routes through downtown Stuart this morning and had lavender cold brew at Blue Door.

Seeing the blue-green algae pollution in our local waters is always upsetting. TR would certainly not be happy about it. No one is.

I appreciate the efforts of Congressman Brian Mast in giving our regional issue a federal platform, and making pleas to the Army Corp of Engineers to stop (or at least evaluate??) the release of toxic waters from Lake Okeechobee into our river and ultimately our coastline.

Teddy never took his eye off NY politics when he was ranching in the Dakotas, and neither shall I take my eye off my home. I'll return before November elections - a little more world-wise, a little stronger, and a little homesick for our Atlantic waters. As far as I'm concerned, completely without regard to partisan politics, this pollution is my number one local priority. Let's fix it. Convince me we can. Tell me how I can help.

Trying to crush pollution with my sweet new Hoka trail running shoes.

Pollution. :( :(
