Make a difference

What quote am I vibing? "What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make." Jane Goodall (1934 - 2025 💚)

Pounds of Trash Removed from the Wild in 2025 (704 Pound Goal): 413

All-Time Pounds of Trash Removed from the Wild: 4,485

The opportunity for each individual to make a difference in this world seems limited, but the conversation about whether or not it's possible is one that I have often. I stand firmly in the camp that each and every one of us - EACH and EVERY one of us - makes an impact on the Earth, and we should be thoughtful about our choices.

Not every choice I make is a good one - I can be wasteful, indulgent, and selfish at times - but, I like to at least consider that and offset those choices when I can with better ones - acts of service, contributions, positive impacts.

September and October provided me with so many opportunities to convene with Nature, friends, and family. In these months were some highlights of my year. The seasons shifting from hot to cool (and back again 😉) - thundering storms and falling leaves.

Some productive trash cleanups as well! With a month and a half left in the year and 291 pounds left to meet my goal - will I do it? Well, only time will tell.

Did you know - The Venus Fly Trap plant is native to a small region of the Carolinas?? It's true, and the favorite fact that I've learned this year! This one is at North Carolina Botanical Garden in Chapel Hill.
